Our Practice

At Westchester Psychological Testing Center we evaluate clients with a wide variety of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.

Our service provides a comprehensive assessment of cognitive functioning using standardized tests. The evaluation includes assessment of intellectual abilities, language, attention, memory, problem solving, visuospatial functions, and motor skills.

WPTC offers evaluations which can be useful in determining if a child requires special education or a 504 plan. We also are able to determine a differential diagnosis, establish a baseline level of cognitive functioning and treatment planning for adolescents and adults. The results can provide objective information relating to an individual's potential for school, return to work or ability to function independently.

Our neuropsychological evaluations are often requirements for admission into private schools which specialize in students with disabilities.

The evaluations that we provide are also used to obtain classroom accommodations and special resources such as having a reader, extra time on exams, working on a computer, having a scribe, and taking tests in a quiet room with few others and frequent breaks for those with learning or attention disorders.

You can also obtain accommodations with our evaluations such as extra time on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Graduate Record Exam (GRE), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), as well as many other state and national tests.

We commonly consult with teachers and/or school officials to help provide necessary educational or academic accommodations.  We also work with doctors and/or therapists to help set goals, monitor progress, and manage expectations. We help families connect with the appropriate types of therapists (e.g., speech/language therapists, occupational therapists) in an effort to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
